Discovering the Anacostia
We took our first foray down to the Anacostia river a few blocks from our front door. It used to be fenced off and completely inaccessible but they recently
took down most of the fences. It's still not very widely used and almost nobody seems to know that you can actually get to the river now.
There are lots of long-term plans to create a park along both sides of the river between RFK stadium and the national mall and the tidal basin. If that happened we'd have an even easier time walking or biking anywhere we need to go!
