Weekend Walks with Carolyn

One of the hikes was five miles through the woods along the Lower Magruder and Magruder Branch Trail, while the other was closer to home along the Anacostia bike trail a few blocks from our house. A great way to spend the day - catching up with a friend while getting out in the perfect autumn weather!

This stag was walking through the woods with about a half dozen other deer. They were all fairly calmly munching while keeping an eye on us.

What you can't tell from this photo is that I have just successfully performed a backflip across this log fifteen feet above the Magruder Branch Stream!

Along the Anacostia, Carolyn successfully subdued an alien invasion!

Look out! He's got a death ray!

A new red bridge! Prior to this bridge, the only way to continue following the trail was to scramble across the CSX railroad tracks.

This is much better :>
