Henry Coe 2024

3/9-13/24
Yet another fantastic March backpacking adventure in Henry Coe State Park! We had to take last year off because there was nearly a foot of snow in the park but this year we had a lot of fun. All the streams were running so there were oh so many stream crossings but the weather was gorgeous and we had a fantastic five nights of isolation in this beautiful park. The neverending views are worth the grueling hills. We saw wild pigs (invasive) for the first time, we saw wild turkeys attempt to fly but mostly just crash into tree branches in an embarrassing display of bravado in response to Bill's sad attempts at a turkey call, we saw coyotes, and we saw oh so many waterfowl. And we saw only a handful of people relatively close to the trailheads and almost nobody once we got to the interior of the park.

Itinerary-
