The Badlands

We had a complicated plan to camp in Badlands National Park with multiple contingencies if the campground was full but it all went out the window once we stepped out of the car and realized it was over 100 degrees here and the area in which we had hoped to set up our tent was closed due to a wildfire started by lightning the prior day. So we found an air conditioned motel in Wall instead! A no-frills Econo Lodge still feels ultra-luxe to us. (Indoor plumbing! Fresh towels! Hot water!)

Two bison welcomed us to the Badlands!

It’s a nice town, but the residents carry plague 🤷🏻‍♂️

We’ve crossed into the central time zone and are steadily moving east!
